Christopher Bruenjes is a Partner with the firm. He began his patent career in 2002 as a Patent Examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He is an innovative Patent Attorney specializing in the chemical and mechanical industries with a strong focus on safeguarding and growing intellectual property assets. He is an expert in providing strategic counsel on general patent portfolio management, drafting opinions, and adapting non-U.S., particularly European, patent applications to align with U.S. patent regulations. Christopher is experienced in patent litigation, especially post-grant proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, reissue, and reexamination proceedings.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Bruenjes was a Partner at a large international general practice firm, where he served as a leader within the Intellectual Property Group, demonstrating expertise in patent prosecution, portfolio management, IP licensing, and patent litigation across diverse industries such as medical devices, consumer products, industrial chemistry, and semiconductors. In particular, he has successfully managed extensive U.S. and foreign patent portfolios, provided strategic counsel on patent validity, infringement, and freedom to operate, and led post-grant proceedings, including inter partes Review and Ex parte reexaminations, to protect client interests and enhance their competitive positioning.

Mr. Bruenjes holds a Juris Doctor (J.D.), with honors as a member of the Order of the Coif, from The George Washington University Law School. He also earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemical Engineering and Environmental Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
