Bryan Latham is Of Counsel with the firm and has over twenty years of experience in electrical, mechanical, and computer science areas, as a patent examiner, in-house agent, and outside counsel. He has developed extensive experience in a wide array of patent law areas, including patent preparation and prosecution (both U.S. and foreign); patent reissue and reexamination proceedings; validity, non-infringement and infringement opinions; and patent portfolio development and management. Mr. Latham’s technical practice areas include computer and software technologies, network and telecommunication technologies, medical device and life sciences technologies, and electronics and semiconductor technologies.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Latham was a partner in an intellectual property boutique law firm. He is also a former patent examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, where he examined patent applications in the cryptography and computer security art unit. Prior to his legal career, Mr. Latham conducted research in the field of photoconductors and semiconductors, which included designing software to control instrumentation and collecting data for experiments involving thin-film photoconductors.
